High-tech short game area comes
to this years show
A new indoor short game practice area is to be introduced at this year’s Scottish Golf Show, organisers have confirmed.
The short game area, which is a massive 320sq/m, will allow visitors to practice one of the most important parts of the game. Indeed, experts estimate that around 70% of shots in a round come from within 100 yards of the putting surface.
The short game area will be exclusively operated by leading golf manufacturer Cleveland Golf, with the company’s world famous wedges - as used by PGA Tour star Vijay Singh - available for the use of visitors to practice their chipping and bunker play.
Using the very latest technology provided by European Golf Greens, technology that can be found in the back gardens of Ryder Cup stars Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood, the practice area will include target greens and even sand traps.
Kevin Craggs, instruction editor at bunkered golf magazine, Scotland’s No.1 golf magazine, will present his short game coaching clinic from the new short game area, giving visitors to the show an excellent taste of first class professional tuition in the perfect teaching environment.
Event Director Tom Lovering said: “We are delighted to team up with Cleveland Golf and European Golf Greens to provide this impressive short game area for visitors. We have worked extremely hard to meet the wishes of thousands of visitors who said last year that they would like to see a first class short game area. Without doubt, we fully expect this 320sq/m area to be one of the busiest sections of the 2008 Scottish Golf Show.”
The Scottish Golf Show will take place at the Royal Highland Centre, near Edinburgh, on April 4-6.
