The Scottish Golf Show 2012 - Press Releases

Take on a trio of challenges

Visitors to the Scottish Golf Show can always expect the chance to test their golf skills in different areas of the game, and this year is no different. The 2011 edition, being held from April 8-10, is offering golf fanatics the chance to earn bragging rights over their friends at three exciting exhibitions.

Imagine yourself as Tiger Woods’ to perform his famous chip-in at Augusta’s 16th hole at the Nike Tiger Challenge, where hundreds of visitors will have a go at holing this impossible shot.

Many have tried to achieve the ‘Greatest Shot of All Time’, as voted for by bunkered golf magazine, but you could be one of the very few to succeed in sinking it, just like Tiger.

If you think yourself handier from a little further out, you can always do your best to hole out from around 70 feet on the new Hole In One Challenge. Here, you can show everyone how good you are with a wedge, with some sensational prizes in store if you do find the bottom of the cup.

If you’re better on the green than off it, the Long Putt Challenge is a must-visit. There, a green of around 45 feet awaits the man, women or child who can earn the adulation of the crowd, and a fantastic reward at the same time, by getting the ball in from a monstrous range.

Don’t forget, by pre-booking your tickets for this year’s show at the SECC in Glasgow, you will be entitled to two free rounds of golf – one at Gleddoch House Hotel and Golf Club and one at The Westerwood Hotel and Golf Resort – and a season pass to the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles. All this for only £10!
