You won’t get many chances to be pictured with the Claret Jug, arguably the most famous trophy in sport, so come along to the 2010 Scottish Golf Show, taking place at the SECC from March 26-28, where you can do just that.
The Open Championship trophy, which has been won by some of the most famous figures in the game, including Tiger Woods, Seve Ballesteros and Jack Nicklaus, will be on display throughout the three-day event for the first time this year and is expected to be one of show’s most popular attractions.
After being snapped alongside the iconic piece of silverware, visitors will be able to download their very own keepsake image from the website of the show’s media partner, bunkered golf magazine, at www.bunkered.co.uk.
They can then print it off, mount it on their wall, or display it anywhere they choose, to become the envy of all of their friends.
The 2008 edition of the show gave visitors the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be pictured with the Ryder Cup, and Scottish Golf Show organiser Tom Lovering is anticipating a similar positive response this time around.
“We are honoured that the Claret Jug will be on display at this year’s show and are delighted to be able to give visitors the opportunity to have their photograph taken alongside it,” said Lovering.
“We were able to bring the Ryder Cup to the show two years ago to coincide with the match between Europe and the USA at Valhalla and it proved to be a very popular attraction.
“This being the 150th anniversary of the first Open, we are expecting the Claret Jug to be every bit as popular, if not more so.”
